Philip Lewis

LMFT

Philip Douglas Lewis helps people find real relief from real problems so they can get back to the successful and meaningful relationships they deserve. His approach is direct, honest, and compassionate. He meets each client where they are and helps them gently break free from the past patterns that keep them stuck in negative cycles.

His integrative approach combines principles from psychodynamic, relational, and existential therapies with the latest cognitive neuroscience insights. Phil believes meaningful psychological change is only possible once clients learn how to bring unconscious mental blocks into conscious awareness. This process empowers clients to begin making more deliberate decisions that can intentionally shape their lives in ways that will best serve them

Phil specializes in treating addiction and other compulsive behaviors (e.g., alcoholism, drug addiction, compulsive sexual behavior, video game addiction, Internet / social media addiction, and compulsive gambling). He has decades of experience helping people in recovery and their families.

Phil is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT #150760) and a Certified Group Psychotherapist. He received his master's degree in clinical psychology from Antioch University in Los Angeles. For two years of clinical training, he treated adults, teens, couples, families, and groups at the Maple Counseling Center in Beverly Hills. More recently, he led groups at La Fuente Hollywood Treatment Center's Partial Hospitalization and Intensive Outpatient programs (PHP/IOP) for LGBTQ+ addiction treatment.
